Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) first obtained his hoverboard from a young girl in the year 2015 to escape from Griff Tannen (Thomas F. Wilson) and his gang in "Back to the Future Part II", and continued to use it throughout the film and its sequel, 'Part III'.

The Marty McFly hoverboard remains the most memorable prop of the "Back to the Future" trilogy.
